Quick take
A 150-piece assortment of long-shank aberdeen hooks in multiple sizes for panfish and small baits.
This VATEICO set packs 150 long shank Aberdeen hooks in a spread of six sizes, from 1/0 down to size 8, in black, red and tea finishes. The light wire carbon steel build and in-line eye suit crappie, bluegill and other panfish, and the sizes stretch up to bass, trout and catfish. The long shank gives you room to thread on strip baits, small prawns or whitebait, and the sharp spear point suits catch and release.
Best for
- Live worm and insect baits in clear water
- Small to medium freshwater fish
- Catch-and-release fishing where sharp points matter
Skip if
- You fish large catfish; step up to heavier wire
- You need drop-shot or specialized terminal tackle
Strengths
- Long shank accommodates whole worms and large insects
- Spear point penetrates quickly with light pressure
- High carbon steel resists dulling on repeated casts
Trade-offs
- Long shank can deep-hook fish if not set quickly
- Smaller sizes are fragile and bend if pressure is wrong
- Assortment means you might run out of one size
