Quick take
Military-style fishing backpack with MOLLE straps and multiple compartments for organized gear transport.
This green camouflage sling-style tackle backpack from Vilante is a soft-shell nylon pack with about 25 liters of storage and five pockets. Padded, adjustable shoulder straps let it carry as a backpack, chest bag, handbag or crossbody bag, and MOLLE webbing and D-rings give you places to clip gear. It suits anglers who walk to the water and want rods, pliers and small tackle on their back, and it weighs about 0.91 kg.
Best for
- Long fishing trips requiring hands-free carrying
- Wade fishing with organized tackle storage
- Multi-day backcountry fishing excursions
Skip if
- You prefer a compact shoulder bag
- You only carry basic tackle and a rod
Strengths
- Waterproof Oxford cloth resists rain and spray
- MOLLE system allows customization and accessory attachment
- Four carrying configurations suit different situations
Trade-offs
- Larger size can be cumbersome for car fishing
- Military style may not suit all preferences
- Backpack weight adds fatigue on longer hikes
