Quick take

Offset neko hook with fluorocarbon weedguard for rigging on soft plastics in cover-heavy shallow water.

The VMC Weedless Neko Hook in size 1/0 is made for rigging soft plastics Neko or Wacky style, with the bait pinned through its center. A fluorocarbon weed guard sits over the point to help keep it clear of cover, and a 3-degree offset point, long shank and wide gap suit finesse presentations. The black nickel finish comes in a pack of five hooks.

Best for

Neko rig presentations in grass and reeds
Wacky rigging when you need weedguard protection
Shallow-water finesse bass fishing

Skip if

You fish open water without cover concerns
You prefer wide-gap hooks for easier hooksets

Strengths

Fluorocarbon weedguard is nearly invisible to fish
3-degree offset point improves hookup rate
Wide gap accommodates different soft plastic sizes
Resin closed eye won't cut line during active use

Trade-offs

Smaller size limits use on larger baits
Fluorocarbon guard degrades over time in sunlight
Offset point reduces penetration on heavy cover
