Quick take
Size 2 offset worm hooks with resin closed eye and barbed shank for Carolina rigs and soft bait.
This VMC worm hook in size #2 has a 3-degree offset point and a black nickel finish. The resin closed eye holds the line in place, and the hook suits light to medium line. It is a natural choice for Texas rigging soft plastic worms or setting up a Carolina rig.
Best for
- Nightcrawlers under Carolina rigs
- Small soft plastic worms and finesse rigs
- Light to medium weight line applications
Skip if
- You need heavy-duty hooks for large catfish
- You fish without an offset; try a straight shank hook
Strengths
- Resin closed eye prevents line slipping during cast
- Offset point improves hookup rate
- Size 2 suits light tackle spinning and baitcasting
Trade-offs
- Closed eye is harder to tie than open eye
- Black nickel finish wears quickly with hard use
- Small size limits target fish to panfish and trout range
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
- Techniques
- Live bait
- Bottom fishing
