Quick take

Adjustable telescoping landing net for fresh and saltwater fishing in multiple lengths.

This Wakeman landing net has an aluminum telescoping handle that extends to 47.5, 64.5 or 80 inches and collapses to 29 inches for storage. The 14-inch deep nylon mesh bag suits catch-and-release anglers, and the handle has an EVA grip. A carry bag and belt clip come with it, which makes it easy to bring along on a boat, kayak or pier.

Best for

  • Catch and release fishing from shore or boat
  • Situations requiring variable reach from 47 to 80 inches
  • Kayak and small boat fishing where portability matters

Skip if

  • You need an extra-deep net for large fish
  • You do active tournament fishing; this net is light duty

Strengths

  • Telescoping design provides three length options for different situations
  • Nylon mesh is soft and will not harm fish scales
  • Folds to 29 in for easy transport and storage
  • Aluminum handle with EVA grip resists corrosion

Trade-offs

  • 14 in depth limits to mid-size fish; large fish may not fit
  • Aluminum handle flexes with heavy loads
  • Plastic folding mechanism can wear with frequent extension
