Quick take
A mechanical reel that automatically sets when a fish strikes, for hands-free fishing from boat docks or through ice.
The White's AutoFisher is a spring-driven automatic reel meant to hang a couple of inches above the water from a limb, a dock or the side of a boat. It is a small alloy steel reel at about half a pound and 7 inches long, with an ambidextrous layout. Anglers set it up for crappie and catfish, and it also works for ice fishing.
