Quick take
A pre-rigged trolling setup with a soft plastic body, number 3 brass blade and red octopus hook on a 6 ft moss green leader.
This black purple Wicked Trout Killer uses a #4 red octopus hook and targets trout, crappie and bass. It suits anglers who fish freshwater lakes for those species and want a darker color option in the lineup.
Best for
- Trolling trolling freshwater lakes for trout and kokanee
- Anglers who want a ready-to-tie setup without rigging
- Light trolling where simple brass blades attract fish
Skip if
- You fish from shore where trolling is not an option
- Deep water trolling where larger blades and weights are needed
Strengths
- Pre-rigged setup is ready to tie to your line without assembly
- Brass blade produces vibration and flash attractive to trout
- Moss green leader blends into freshwater
- Soft plastic body adds movement to blade attraction
Trade-offs
- Pre-rigged design cannot be customized without retying
- Separate leader means one more knot between your line and the lure
- Limited to trolling technique; not effective for casting

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
