Quick take
Slim 66-inch rod overwrap tape in dry polymer for wrapping ultralight rods and pistol grip rods.
This slim Winn overwrap is a narrow 66 inch polymer tape, about 20 mm wide, in an orange and black colorway. The narrow cut suits wrapping over an existing split grip or a short handle on an ultralight or pistol grip rod. It adds a tacky, cushioned surface to a rod without a rebuild.
Best for
- Repairing worn grips on light action rods
- Ultralight spinning rods and pistol grip equipment
- Anglers who prefer customized handle feel
Skip if
- You need wide grip wrap for heavy saltwater rods
- You prefer complete grip replacement
Strengths
- Slim profile suits lighter rod styles
- Dry polymer provides non-slip grip
- 66 inch length covers most ultralight rod applications
Trade-offs
- Slim width limits coverage on standard diameter grips
- Tape application requires skill to apply straight
- Dry polymer may not provide cushioning of foam grips
