Quick take

A compact waterproof floating dry box with a transparent lid and lanyard attachment for protecting gear on the water.

This compact blue plastic dry box measures 9.4 by 6.5 by 2 inches and weighs about 440 grams. A rubber gasket, two latches and a hinged flip-top lid close it up, and the transparent cover lets you see what is inside. A rope and lanyard holes make it easy to tie down in a kayak or boat, a handy home for a phone, keys or small tackle on the water.

Best for

Kayak fishing where gear must stay dry
Boat fishing in saltwater spray
Protecting electronics and valuables during water sports

Skip if

You need large storage capacity
You prefer soft bags for packing flexibility

Strengths

Floats and includes lanyard to prevent loss overboard
Transparent lid lets you see contents without opening

Trade-offs

Small 9.4 x 6.5 x 2 inch size limits storage to compact items
Hinged closure and latches can stick with salt buildup over time
Hard plastic design less flexible than soft dry bags for oddly shaped gear
