Quick take

A waterproof fishing backpack with integrated rod holders and inflatable flotation for hands-free carrying.

This gray Xelfly backpack is built for anglers who walk, wade or boat to their spots and want their gear sealed from water. It has a submersible zipper, an inflatable air valve for buoyancy, integrated rod holders and a net sleeve. Padded waist and sternum straps with gear loops keep the load on your body and your hands free. It weighs about 3.2 pounds and measures roughly 17.7 by 12.8 by 4.7 inches.

Best for

  • Kayak fishing where waterproof storage is essential
  • Wading in rivers where submersible design prevents water intrusion
  • Anglers seeking hands-free carry on long walks to fishing spots

Skip if

  • You need a tackle box for stationary boat fishing
  • You fish ultralight and prefer minimal gear

Strengths

  • Submersible design and water-resistant zipper keep gear dry in wet conditions
  • Integrated rod holders accommodate two rods without separate racks
  • Inflatable air valve increases buoyancy to prevent sinking if pack tips overboard

Trade-offs

  • Waterproof material is heavier than canvas or nylon
  • Padded waist straps add bulk when sitting in kayaks for long periods
  • Compartment design does not accommodate hard-sided tackle boxes

  • Freshwater
