Quick take
Sharp size #4 drop-shot hooks in black finish, designed for precise presentations on finesse rigs.
This XFISHMAN drop shot hook in size #4 is a black high carbon steel hook with a spear point, sold in a pack of 50. It suits anglers rigging a weighted line above a soft plastic bait for bass, crappie, perch or walleye.
Best for
- Bass and walleye on drop-shot rigs
- Finesse techniques in clear lakes
- Crappie under docks and brush
Skip if
- You need larger hooks for trophy bass
- You fish moving water; drop-shot is best in still lakes
Strengths
- Spear point penetrates soft mouths of small fish
- Black finish is less visible in clear water
- Size #4 matches small soft plastics and shiners
Trade-offs
- Spear point breaks more easily than offset on hard strikes
- Black finish can corrode if not rinsed after saltwater
- Size #4 is small and difficult to tie on for older eyes
