Quick take

A starter kit with six essential fly tying materials in controlled quantities for someone beginning to tie their first flies.

This XFISHMAN kit gathers the basic materials a new fly tyer needs to start at the bench, including hooks, brass beads, dubbing, thread, legs and Flashabou. It leans toward trout patterns, with curved hooks in sizes 12, 14 and 16. Large-print labels name each material and its common use, which helps a beginner learn what goes where. Tools such as a vise and bobbin are not part of it.
