Quick take

A 4-foot cast net with heavy zinc weights that sinks quickly to trap baitfish in both waters.

  • Freshwater and saltwater bait gathering
  • Beginners and experienced anglers alike

Skip if

  • You need a larger cast net for deep water
  • You fish in very dense weed

Strengths

  • Zinc weights cause fast, efficient sinking
  • Portable and lightweight for on-the-go use
  • 0.38 inch mesh opening retains small bait

Trade-offs

  • 4 ft size limits coverage area on each throw
  • Cast net technique requires practice for accuracy
  • Nylon mesh needs fresh water rinsing after saltwater use
