Quick take
Twenty 4-inch soft plastic grubs with twin tails, designed as jig trailers or standalone lures.
This 4-inch Yamamoto Double Tail Grub is a soft plastic with a crawfish-style body and twin tails, sold in a 20-pack in Green Pumpkin with large black flake. Bass anglers pin it to a skirted jig or add it as a trailer on a spinnerbait, where the extra bulk slows the retrieve. The soft body and paired tails put out plenty of movement even on a slow drag across the bottom.
Best for
- Trailer on jigs and spinnerbaits
- Cold water bottom fishing
- Crappie and panfish in spring and fall
Skip if
- You need a finesse lure smaller than 4 inches
- You fish topwater or shallow vegetation
Strengths
- Twin tails create strong vibration and action underwater
- Supersoft plastic flexes on strike without dislodging from hook
- Crawfish design triggers strikes from bass and crappie
Trade-offs
- 4-inch size may be too large for finesse presentations
- Soft plastic tears and requires frequent replacement
- Design works best in slow retrieves, limiting options in open water
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Techniques
- Jigging
- Bottom fishing

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
