Quick take
A versatile salt-loaded grub with double tail, Senko body and tentacles that works year-round.
A 5 inch double tail hula grub from Yamamoto, poured in black with large blue flake and sold as a pack of 10. The body is a Senko-style shape with twin tails on one end and flowing tentacles on the other. It suits anglers who want a bulky soft plastic to rig on a jighead, Texas rig or Carolina rig.
Best for
- Texas rig and jighead fishing in deep water
- Flipping and pitching thick cover on reservoirs
- Saltwater fishing for bottomfish and catfish
Skip if
- You need a small finesse bait; this is 4 in and better suited to heavier rigging
Strengths
- Salt loading helps the lure sink and stay in the strike zone longer
- Tentacles and double tail generate action on jigging and dragging retrieves
- Proven productivity across multiple fisheries
Trade-offs
- Larger size and salt loading are better on jigheads than light line
- Soft plastic durability depends on rigs and terrain contact
- Multiple body segments can tear if caught on sharp structure

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
