Quick take
The original soft plastic stick bait in watermelon, a proven color for bass in clear to slightly stained water.
The Yamamoto 5-inch Senko is a soft plastic stick bait sold in a pack of ten, in a Watermelon and Black flake color. It sinks, so it can be let fall through the water and fluttered back toward the bottom, and it can be rigged unweighted or with a screw-lock weight. Anglers often work it through shallow cover such as grass, stumps and docks.
Best for
- Bass in clear and natural-water conditions
- Wacky rigging over shallow weed beds
- Jigging on shaky heads
Skip if
- You fish murky water; use darker colors
- You fish fast-moving presentations; Senko excels when paused
Strengths

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
