Quick take
A 440-pound mechanical hanging scale with a large 6.69-inch dial readable from any angle, suitable for heavy fish and gear.
This is an analog hanging spring scale with a 440 lb / 200 kg capacity and a 6.69 inch dial that reads in pounds and kilograms. It runs without batteries, has an adjustable tare, and comes with two steel S-hooks for hanging a catch or a field-dressed animal. At about 2.14 lb, it is easy to carry in a tackle bag or truck.
Best for
- Weighing large fish and catfish
- Hunting and farming use beyond fishing
- Anglers needing no-battery weighing solution
Skip if
- You fish light tackle; this capacity is excessive
- You need accuracy to ounce; mechanical dials have limits
Strengths
- Mechanical spring needs no batteries
- Large 6.69-inch dial displays clearly from a distance
- Steel construction withstands hard use
Trade-offs
- Mechanical dials are less precise than digital
- Large size and weight make it less portable
- Pointer may drift over time with heavy use
