Quick take
Large bulky worm with tapered tail that produces subtle swimming action on rigs.
The Plum colorway of YUM's Mighty Worm is a 10.5-inch straight-tail soft plastic aimed at bass anglers. Its bulky, ribbed body and tapering tail flare back out to writhe on a Texas rig or jighead. Each pack holds five worms, and a finishing nail pushed into the tail adds weight for wacky rigging.
Best for
- Texas-rigged presentations for flipping thick cover
- Wacky rigging when you want a unique body profile
- Big bass hunters preferring large profiles on heavy line
Skip if
- You fish clear water where large worms spook fish
- You need smaller profiles for finesse fishing
Strengths
- 10.5-inch length and bulk attracts attention of large bass
- Ribbed body creates slight movement without active retrieves
- Tapered tail before the bulge adds unique swimming action
Trade-offs
- Large size is overkill for small or finicky bass
- Soft plastic material tears easily on repeated casts and strikes
- Color selection is limited to what YUM produces

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
