Quick take
A bladed jig with a flat-bottom head, thin blade, and low center of gravity for quick vibration and erratic movement through cover.
This is a 3/8 oz bladed swim jig in the BHite Delight color, built on a 5/0 hook. The flat-bottom head and thin blade give it a side-to-side shake on the retrieve, and the head is shaped to slip off cover and skip under docks. It suits bass anglers working around wood, docks and other structure.
Best for
- Casting beneath docks and overhanging branches
- Shallow dense vegetation and brush piles
- Conditions where deflecting off cover improves strikes
Skip if
- You fish open water with few obstructions; easier lures work fine
- You prefer quiet baits in clear water
Strengths
- Flat head shape skips easily under low-hanging cover
- Thin blade starts vibrating at slow retrieve speeds
- Silicone skirt deflects off obstacles instead of hanging up
Trade-offs
- Bladed jigs require practiced casting to avoid snagging on cover
- Heavy enough to demand adequate tackle; not for ultralight setups
- Vibration may spook fish in very clear water

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
