Quick take

A 2 inch soft plastic craw made from tough ElaZtech that resists nicks and cuts better than standard plastics.

The CrusteaZ is a small soft plastic meant to imitate crustaceans such as crabs, crayfish and ghost shrimp, aimed at anglers who want a bait that resembles the forage in their water. At 2 inches long, it has a compact profile, and its twin U-tail claws move on both fast and slow retrieves. It can be rigged several ways and comes in a six-pack of Watermelon Red.

Best for

  • Bass fishing in shallow cover and brush
  • Finesse jig presentations on light line
  • Situations where toughness is more important than action

Skip if

  • You want a larger profile for bigger bass
  • You fish open water requiring more action

Strengths

  • ElaZtech material is tougher than standard soft plastics
  • Watermelon red color is visible and attractive
  • 2 inch size works on light finesse jigs

Trade-offs

  • Small 2 inch profile limits appeal to larger bass
  • ElaZtech plastic is slightly stiffer than standard
  • Watermelon red narrows color matching options

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
