Quick take
A 5 in soft plastic swimbait with molded hook slot and split dorsal fin pocket for weedless rigging.
This 5-inch paddle-tail swimbait in the Opening Night color is molded from buoyant ElaZtech plastic. A belly slot accepts a 5/0 wide-gap hook, and the plastic floats, so many anglers pair it with a weighted hook or jig head. It suits bass anglers who want a lifelike minnow profile for rigging around cover.
Best for
- Fishing grass, weeds and heavy cover with minimal hangups
- Bass in shallow to mid-depth water
- Weedless rigging on any hook size
Skip if
- You need a hard-bodied swimbait for deep water
- You fish open water where a weedless rig is unnecessary
Strengths
- ElaZtech material is 10x tougher than standard soft plastics
- Molded rigging slot eliminates slipping on the hook
- Split dorsal fin pocket simplifies hooksets through grass
Trade-offs
- Soft plastic durability varies with fish species and teeth
- Weedless slot limits traditional rigging methods
- Requires proper hook choice for optimal performance

About this type
