Quick take
Small finesse TRD baits made from buoyant ElaZtech, designed to flutter slowly to the bottom on a Ned Rig.
The Z-Man Finesse TRD is an 8-pack of 2.75 inch ElaZtech soft plastic baits made for the Ned rig on a light jighead. Its material is buoyant, so the bait rises and flutters back toward the bottom in the slow fall that finesse anglers rely on. The Mud Minnow color suits bass, panfish and trout fishing.
Best for
- Ned Rig finesse fishing on shroom jigheads
- Clear water bass that are timid about larger baits
- Panfish, trout and drum as well as bass
Skip if
- You need a faster-falling bait; buoyancy slows descent
- You fish heavy cover where finesse is ineffective
Strengths
- Softer ElaZtech feels more realistic than standard plastic
- Naturally buoyant keeps the bait off the bottom
- Flutter and dart action on the way down
Trade-offs
- Requires light jigheads; won't work on heavy rigs
- Buoyancy makes it hard to fish deep or windy conditions
- Softer plastic tears more easily than harder baits

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
