Quick take
3-inch soft paddle-tail swimbait with lifelike swimming action for bass and saltwater predators.
The Z-Man MinnowZ 3-inch paddle tail is a six-bait pack of soft plastic swimbaits built from ElaZtech material. Its split dorsal fin covers the hook point, so it can be rigged weedless on a jighead. Anglers can also fish it on weighted hooks or as a trailer on a chatterbait or swim jig. It targets bass, trout, redfish and snook, so it suits both freshwater and inshore anglers.
Best for
- Largemouth and smallmouth bass in current
- Stripers and redfish in shallow flats
- Versatile search bait on simple jigheads
Skip if
- You need high visibility in stained water
- You fish dense weed beds
Strengths
- Soft ElaZtech material stays supple through multiple catches
- Pulsating paddle tail triggers aggressive bites from bass and stripers
- Works effectively on simple jigheads or as a swimjig skirt
Trade-offs
- Plain color requires matching with seasonal forage
- Soft material demands careful hook placement to avoid tearing
- Not heavy enough for distance casting without added weight

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
