Quick take
A 4.5 in segmented soft jerkbait that floats unweighted and dives on a twitch.
This 4.5-inch RaZor ShadZ comes as a four-pack of soft jerkbaits with a segmented, fish-shaped body and forked tail. Unweighted, it floats on the surface and dives on a twitching retrieve, and it can be fished as a bladed swim jig trailer when a bulkier profile is wanted. Its belly slot and dorsal pocket let it rig weedless on a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook, a setup aimed at bass and redfish.
Best for
- Weightless twitching retrieves over shallow flats and grass
- Bladed swim-jig trailers to increase profile and bulk
- Clear to lightly stained water where detail matters
Skip if
- You need heavy coverage in thick weeds
- You prefer steady swimming action over darting
Strengths
- Lifelike segmented body shape mimics natural baitfish
- Floats when rigged weightless; dives sharply on the twitch
- Forked tail adds erratic motion on the pause
- Durable ElaZtech plastic resists tearing on teeth
Trade-offs
- Requires an EWG hook for proper weedless rigging
- Weightless rigging limits casting distance in wind
- The darting action needs skilled retrieve to trigger bites

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
