Quick take
A 5-inch segmented soft plastic with thin paddle tail and scent impregnation for both freshwater and saltwater.
The Scented PaddlerZ is a 5-inch soft plastic paddle-tail swimbait sold in packs of five, with a segmented body that gives it a lifelike wiggle on the retrieve. Its thin paddle tail lets it be worked as a twitch, wake or swimbait at fast or slow speeds, or trailed on a jig or umbrella rig. The bait is infused with a mullet-scent gel made from real bait, which suits anglers who want a scented swimbait for bass and inshore saltwater.
Best for
- Swim jig trailers for finesse bass
- Topwater buzzing through grass and cover
- Saltwater inshore fishing on jigheads
Skip if
- You prefer hard-bodied swimbaits for open water
- You want a lure with no scent
Strengths
- Segmented body swims with a lifelike undulation
- Thin paddle tail works on both fast and slow retrieves
- Scent impregnation adds attraction beyond action
Trade-offs
- At 5 inches with a thin paddle, it is not for heavy cover

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
