Quick take

Tough ElaZtech split-tail trailers that add bulk and action to spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and bladed swim jigs.

The Z-Man Split-Tail TrailerZ in white is a 4-inch soft plastic trailer sold in packs of ten. Its split tail is designed to pair with spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and bladed swim jigs, and some anglers also use it on jig heads. Made in the USA, it suits anglers building their own spinnerbait or jig setups.

Best for

  • Adding volume to spinnerbaits in low visibility
  • Giving extra tail action to buzzbait rigs
  • Extending the life of a worn trailer

Skip if

  • You prefer straight-tail trailers
  • You fish heavy cover

Strengths

  • ElaZtech material withstands many fish hookups
  • Split tail adds extra movement and appeal
  • 10 trailers per pack cover multiple rigs

Trade-offs

  • Bulkier than single-tail trailers
  • May require heavier spinnerbait head for balanced cast
  • Not designed for use alone; requires host lure
