Quick take
A 2.5 in downsized crawfish that stands up when dragged on bottom, ideal for finesse rigging.
The TRD CrawZ is a 2.5-inch crayfish imitation made from soft ElaZtech plastic, sized for the Ned rig. Its claws float, so the bait stands up in a defensive pose when dragged along the bottom. It also works as a finesse jig trailer and suits bass, crappie, catfish and walleye anglers fishing tough bites around cover.
Best for
- Bass, crappie and panfish in tough conditions or clear water
- Finesse and drop-shot rigging on light jigheads
- Dragging along bottom flats and channel transitions
Skip if
- You want a crawfish to rig on your Texas rig setup
Strengths
- Buoyant claws stand the bait vertical on bottom; creates natural defensive posture
- ElaZtech material with salt content sinks at ideal rate for finesse presentations
- Small 2.5 in size triggers bites from finicky bass and panfish on light line
Trade-offs
- Small size limits appeal to bigger stripers or catfish
- Buoyancy works against you if you want to keep bait low; needs weighted jighead
- ElaZtech scent attracts crawdads but may attract predatory crawfish in live-bait tanks

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
