Quick take

A 4-inch finesse worm with a floppy ring tail and salt mixture to hold fish longer on the strike.

This 4-inch soft plastic worm has a ringed body and comes in a 20-pack in Green Pumpkin. Bass anglers can rig it on a drop shot or a Texas rig, and its compact length suits finesse presentations. The pack holds enough worms to set up several rods for a day on the water.

Best for

  • Drop-shot and slip-sinker rigs for finesse bass fishing
  • Small hooks and light line in clear water
  • Any presentation that rewards a natural, subtle bait

Skip if

  • You fish heavy cover; small worms get hidden in thick grass
  • You prefer larger profiles; 4 inches is downsized

Strengths

  • Floppy tail draws strikes even on a pause
  • Salt mixture keeps fish holding the bait through the hook set
  • Green pumpkin blends naturally in most water colors

Trade-offs

  • Ring tail design creates more water resistance on the cast
  • Soft material tears easily; expect to replace often
  • 4 inches demands finesse equipment; won't work on heavy line

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
