Quick take
Large 9-inch worm with salt-impregnated plastic and floppy tail for pitching and flipping in heavy cover.
The Zoom Magnum II is a nine-inch soft plastic worm sold in a pack of 20 in green pumpkin. Its long ribbon-style tail curls and moves in the water, which makes it a fit for anglers working bass. It is built for Texas-rigged fishing in heavy cover, flipping and pitching into thick vegetation when the water is warm, and slow dragging over flats and ledges.
Best for
- Flipping and pitching into thick weeds and brush
- Bass fishing for larger fish in heavy cover
- Water where a bulky profile generates strikes
Skip if
- You fish open water where smaller baits are better
- You prefer finesse presentations
Strengths
- Big 9-inch profile displaces water and attracts bass from cover
- Salt mixture makes fish hold the bait longer, improving hookup ratio
- Floppy tail adds action without a jighead
Trade-offs
- Large size makes it difficult to cast on light tackle
- Floppy tail can unravel with repeated casting
- Green pumpkin color may not match all regional water conditions

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
