Quick take

A soft plastic shad that darts and glides with a deep belly, fishing weightless or on a jig head across depths.

The Zoom Super Fluke in Bluegill Flash is a 5.25 inch soft plastic baitfish imitator sold in a 10 count pack. It can be fished weightless to skitter across the surface or rigged with a belly-weighted hook or insert weights for deeper water. Its salt-impregnated body suits bass anglers who want one soft bait for shallow cover and deeper runs.

Best for

  • Grass beds and laydowns for neutral bass
  • Wacky rigging for subtle presentation
  • Texas rigging for deep-water structure

Skip if

  • You fish only topwater
  • You prefer rigid hard baits

Strengths

  • Deep belly allows erratic darting and gliding action
  • Versatile rigging options from surface to bottom
  • Saltwater formula attracts more bites

Trade-offs

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
