Quick take
Floating trick worms that work wacky rigged or weightless and are salt-impregnated to keep fish holding longer when they bite.
A straight-tailed floating worm in Green Pumpkin, sold as a pack of 20. It suits wacky rigging, Texposed hooks or weightless presentations, and its buoyancy lets it hover and flutter above the bottom. A familiar soft plastic for anglers working bass water.
Best for
- Wacky rigging on shakey heads for finesse presentations
- Weightless topwater over weeds and shallow flats
- Post-spawn bass fishing where natural, subtle worms appeal
Skip if
- You fish deep water or heavy cover where sinking worms are needed
- You want a large profile worm for pike and musky
Strengths
- Floating design allows wacky rigging and weightless presentations
- Salt impregnation makes fish hold longer for better hook-ups
Trade-offs
- Floating action limits deep-water presentations
- Basic straight design lacks the tail action of paddle or ribbon tail worms
- Green Pumpkin Red is muted in high-sun conditions

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
