Quick take

A 16-piece stainless steel automatic ice fishing trap with adjustable spring trigger for unattended fishing under the ice.

This Chivao set holds 16 spring-loaded stainless steel hook devices in four lengths, from about 11.7 cm up to 18.5 cm. Each one springs the hook when a fish takes the bait, so it suits unattended setups under the ice. The needle-point hooks are light and thin, which keeps the whole set easy to carry and store in a small box.

Best for

  • Ice fishing where you fish multiple holes
  • Setting unattended traps under the ice
  • Those who want automatic bite detection

Skip if

  • You prefer traditional hand-held ice rods
  • You fish open water only

Strengths

  • Stainless steel resists rust and ice damage
  • Adjustable trigger lets you set sensitivity for different fish
  • 16 pieces allow multiple holes to be fished

Trade-offs

  • Requires specialized technique to set and retrieve
  • Works only under ice and with specialized rigs
  • Spring may weaken with freeze-thaw cycles
