Quick take
Translucent plastic tackle box with adjustable dividers and Zerust corrosion protection for organizing hooks, line and lures.
The Flambeau 4007 Tuff Tainer is a shallow hard tackle tray for small items like hooks, jigs and soft-plastic accessories. Its 12 removable Zerust dividers let you set up 24 compartments, and the clear lid and base show what is inside without opening it. It measures 11"L x 7.25"W x 1.75"H and weighs 5.12 ounces, so it slides into a larger bag or a boat compartment easily.
Best for
- Organizing and storing terminal tackle (hooks, sinkers, swivels)
- Saltwater tackle requiring corrosion protection
- Quick identification of tackle contents without opening the box
Skip if
- You keep tackle in multiple smaller boxes for different techniques
- You organize by individual compartments rather than adjustable sections
Strengths
- Translucent lid and base allow visual inventory without opening
- Zerust VCI technology inhibits rust for up to 5 years
- 12 adjustable dividers adapt to tackle storage needs
Trade-offs
- Large 11 in x 7.25 in size is bulky for pocket or daypack storage
- Plastic construction is less durable than metal for hard impacts
- Compartments accommodate only small items like hooks and weights; large lures need separate storage
