Quick take

Size 4/0 EWG offset hooks, a proven design for Texas and Carolina rigging soft plastics.

This is a pack of 25 Gamakatsu extra wide gap offset worm hooks in size 4/0 with a black anodized finish. The forged, barbed shank and spear point suit Texas or Carolina rigging of soft plastic worms, craws and creature baits. A bulk pack like this suits anglers who rig plastics often and want spares on hand.

Best for

  • 10 inch worms in heavy cover
  • Pitching and flipping brush and wood
  • Soft plastic jerkbaits and Senko-style worms

Skip if

  • You need smaller hooks for finesse worms under 4 inches
  • You fish open water where a wider gap is unnecessary

Strengths

  • Wide gap design hooks fish reliably on the strike
  • Legendary Gamakatsu quality in a versatile size
  • Offset eye pairs cleanly with most soft plastics

Trade-offs

  • 4/0 is too large for light finesse rigs and small worms
  • Wide gap requires enough bait length to hide the hook point
  • Barbed design makes catch-and-release more damaging
