Quick take
A 5 inch topwater walking bait with 3X strong hooks and saltwater-grade hardware.
A compact 3.5-inch walk-the-dog topwater with an internal rattle, in the Red Head pattern. It weighs about half an ounce and suits bass, striped bass, pike, muskie, speckled trout and redfish. A steady rhythm of short line snaps sends it side to side across the surface.
Best for
- Inshore saltwater species like redfish, speckled trout and snook
- Walking-the-dog retrieve in shallow water
- Aggressive species that eat large surface baits
Skip if
- You need a shallow diver
- You fish calm, clear water where splashing spooks fish
Strengths
- Heavy-duty hardware and 3X hooks handle aggressive strikes
- 5 inch size casts well and appeals to large inshore species
- Walking action from the beefed-up design
Trade-offs
- 1 oz makes it harder to cast far in calm conditions

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
