Quick take

Green bucktail teaser with sharp 5/0 hook for jigging fluke and sea bass on saltwater bottom rigs.

This is a ten-piece set of bucktail teasers in green, each tied on a 5/0 needle-point hook. Teasers like these are made for fluke and sea bass rigs, where a bright dressed hook rides above the main lure. The multi-pack means spare teasers are on hand for a day of drifting.

Best for

  • Fluke and flounder jigging presentations
  • Teaser spreads for sea bass
  • Saltwater bottom fishing

Skip if

  • You fish freshwater
  • You prefer different hook sizes

Strengths

  • Bucktail creates pulsating action on light jigging strokes
  • Highly visible green color attracts fish from distance
  • Needle-point 5/0 hooks are sharp and hold fish securely

Trade-offs

  • Green color may be too visible in very clear water
  • Bucktail fibers fray over time with use
  • 10-pack may exceed needs for occasional anglers

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
