Quick take

An aluminum fish gripper with a built-in scale and rotatable handle that weighs and holds fish without damaging the lip.

Best for

  • Catch-and-release photography with weight data
  • Handling aggressive fish that need secure restraint
  • Quick weighing at the boat or bank

Skip if

  • You need precise weight measurements for large fish over 40 lb
  • You fish in heavy cover where you cannot safely lift the fish

Strengths

  • 360-degree rotating handle lets you weigh and photograph fish at any angle
  • Durable aluminum construction resists saltwater corrosion
  • Non-slip grip and lanyard reduce risk of losing the gripper

Trade-offs

  • 40 lb capacity limits use on large catfish, sturgeon or saltwater species
  • Scale accuracy depends on level positioning
  • Aluminum can still corrode over time in saltwater despite coating

  • Freshwater
  • Saltwater
