Quick take

Saltwater spinning reel with hybrid carbonite drag system and LITECAST aluminum body, sized for inshore and medium offshore.

The Okuma Salina 6000 is a saltwater spinning reel with a lightweight Litecast body and a 5.8:1 gear ratio that picks up about 39.8 inches of line per turn. It carries seven bearings, a dual-force drag with up to 33 pounds of pressure, and a handle that screws in on either side. It suits anglers working inshore water who also want room to step up to bigger fish.

Best for

  • Light inshore saltwater fishing
  • Mangrove and estuary species
  • All-day fishing without arm fatigue

Skip if

  • You target heavy offshore species

Strengths

  • Hybrid drag system holds steady without creep
  • LITECAST body is 15% lighter than standard aluminum
  • Waterproof seals protect key bearings

Trade-offs

  • 5.8:1 ratio is moderate, not fast retrieve
  • 33 lb drag limits use on very light line
  • Ambidextrous handle adds complexity
