Quick take
Foam strike indicators that compress onto your line without kinking, in six mixed colors for visibility.
This six-pack of small round foam strike indicators from Oros gives fly anglers a bite-detection float in assorted colors. Each one closes around the leader with a screw-on top, so it can be slid up or down to change depth without kinking the line. The top and bottom colors can be mixed to suit the light on the water, and the foam is made with a biodegradable additive.
Best for
- Dry fly and nymph fishing under indicators
- Detecting light takes on fine tippet
- Cold water sessions where visibility matters
Skip if
- You prefer rigid plastic indicators
- You fish fast water where drag is heavy
Strengths
- Soft foam compresses for a secure grip that does not crimp line
- Oversized threads make the indicator quick to adjust up or down
- Smooth surface resists water buildup and casts cleanly
Trade-offs
- Foam can deform if over-compressed during storage
- Mix of colors means less consistency across the pack
- Smaller indicators are delicate in rough casting conditions
