Quick take
A single large open compartment tackle box designed for storing bulky or uniquely shaped items and tackle.
The Plano Stowaway 3700 Deep Open Compartment is a clear plastic tackle box with a single roomy 3-inch-deep bay. That open layout suits bulky or oddly shaped gear that would not fit in a divided tray. ProLatch closures snap shut, and the see-through body lets an angler spot what is inside at a glance. It measures about 14 by 9 inches and fits the 3700 series footprint.
Best for
- Storing large lures, plugs and topwater baits
- Organizing tackle that doesn't fit in divided boxes
- Checking contents through transparent lid
Skip if
- You need multiple organized compartments
- You plan to organize small hooks and jigs
Strengths
- Transparent lid allows quick identification of contents
- Large single compartment fits items other boxes won't hold
- ProLatch closures secure contents reliably
- Water-repellent material protects tackle
Trade-offs
- Single compartment provides no internal organization
- Not ideal for sorting small terminal tackle
- 3.25 in depth may be shallow for some baits
