Quick take
A hard-body baitfish lure with a soft curly tail that wafts and pulses during recovery.
The Hot Tiger Pike X-Rap Otus is a 9.84-inch hybrid bait for anglers after pike, with 2/0 treble hooks and a spear point. Its curl tail pulses as the body rolls on the retrieve, and the tail steadies the lure when it pauses. It runs between 1.6 and 3.3 feet deep.
Best for
- Cold water and harsh conditions where subtle action works
- Pike and walleye that respond to hybrid presentations
- Casting and trolling in weeds and timber
Skip if
- You want a silent hard lure
- You need a floating lure
Strengths
- Soft tail provides pulsing action that hard lures cannot match
- Hard body handles snags and plant material
- 6-point stainless tail lock system is durable and replaceable
Trade-offs

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
