Quick take
Water-soluble PVA mesh for quick bait delivery and presentation in carp and float fishing.
This 44mm PVA mesh refill gives a wider tube for packing a fuller bait parcel around a hookbait. The mesh starts to dissolve once water reaches it, so the bait opens up on the lakebed. Keeping the bait dry before the cast helps the mesh hold together until it is in the water.
Best for
- Carp fishing with pellet and paste baits
- Float rigs where mesh holds bait in place
- Quick dissolution for natural bait presentation
Skip if
- You fish moving water; mesh dissolves too fast
- You want long-lasting rigs; PVA is temporary
Strengths
- Dissolves in 45 seconds; releases bait when it hits the bottom
- Three widths suit different bait volumes
- Scissors included for quick cutting
Trade-offs
- PVA is sensitive to moisture; storage requires dryness
- Mesh works best in still or slow water
- Not suitable for saltwater; PVA deteriorates in salt
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Techniques
- Bottom fishing
- Float fishing
