Quick take
Nine-foot 6-weight fly rod with medium-fast action and wood reel seat, suitable for all freshwater and saltwater species.
This 6 weight Redington Path is a 9-foot graphite fly rod with a moderate-fast action, a forgiving taper for anglers still building their casting stroke. It breaks into four pieces and travels in a cordura tube with built-in dividers. A cork grip and wooden reel seat give it a classic feel for trout, bass and other freshwater fly fishing.
Best for
- All-around freshwater fly fishing for trout and bass
- Saltwater flats and bonefish
- Medium-distance casts with variety of flies
Skip if
- You fish only tiny creeks with ultra-light rods
- You need a two-piece rod for your vehicle
Strengths
- Medium-fast action loads easily and turns over wind-resistant flies
- Wood reel seat gives classic feel and stability
- Four-piece design and cordura tube protect rod
Trade-offs
