Quick take
A 3-pack of nylon fly tippet in 4X, 5X, and 6X sizes with superb knot strength, suppleness, and camouflage ability on the water.
This is a three-spool pack of RIO Powerflex nylon tippet covering the fine end of the range, 4X, 5X and 6X, with 30 yards on each spool. It suits fly anglers who tie on small trout flies and want to step down in diameter as the water gets clearer. The spread of sizes means one pack handles most light-tippet situations on a trout stream.
Best for
- Fly fishing for trout across various conditions
- Anglers who change tippet sizes frequently
- Clear water where tippet visibility matters
Skip if
- You only use one tippet size
- You prefer fluorocarbon for specific situations
Strengths
- Light grey color enhances camouflage underwater
- High knot strength across all sizes
- Suppleness aids natural fly drift
Trade-offs
- Copolymer nylon is less abrasion-resistant than fluorocarbon
- Three sizes means unused spools after selection
- Requires knot tying skill to connect to leaders
