Quick take
Clear elastic thread for binding soft bait and shrimp to hooks without knots.
This is a two-spool set of clear monofilament nylon bait thread, 656 feet on each spool. You wrap it around soft baits such as shrimp and pull it snug, and it clings to itself so no knot is needed. Anglers who fish cut or soft bait and want it to stay put on the hook through casts will find it a simple add-on for the tackle bag.
Best for
- Keeping soft baits and shrimp on the hook longer
- Live-bait fishing in saltwater
- Situations where cast distance matters
Skip if
- You use hard baits like worms under a float
- You want a traditional knot connection
Strengths
- Stretches to wrap baits without slipping during cast
- Invisible thread doesn't spook fish
- No knots needed; simple twist-and-tighten application
Trade-offs
- Requires practice to apply correctly while keeping bait secure
- Thread can degrade or break with rough handling
- Less universal than traditional rigging methods
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
- Techniques
- Live bait
