Quick take

Clear elastic thread for binding soft bait and shrimp to hooks without knots.

Best for

  • Keeping soft baits and shrimp on the hook longer
  • Live-bait fishing in saltwater
  • Situations where cast distance matters

Skip if

  • You use hard baits like worms under a float
  • You want a traditional knot connection

Strengths

  • Stretches to wrap baits without slipping during cast
  • Invisible thread doesn't spook fish
  • No knots needed; simple twist-and-tighten application

Trade-offs

  • Requires practice to apply correctly while keeping bait secure
  • Thread can degrade or break with rough handling
  • Less universal than traditional rigging methods
