Quick take
A 3.75-inch creature bait with angled appendages that slow the fall and displace water.
The Green Pumpkin Blue Flake Spine Craw measures 3.75 inches and has a narrow, solid body built to push through heavy cover. Its quick, tight claw action suits a swimming retrieve, and on a swim or bladed jig its claws can resemble a baitfish. Rig it Texas-style with a heavy weight for punching or a light one for swimming, or Carolina-style, and it comes in a pack of 8.
Best for
- Flipping dense cover for bass
- Using heavier jig heads in deep water
- Dragging on the bottom
Skip if
- You need to cast long distances; soft plastics are light
- You fish open water; dragging works best near structure
Strengths
- Angled appendages slow descent through the water column
- Appendages displace more water and create attraction
- Works as standalone bait or as trailer
Trade-offs
- Soft plastic tears easily on sharp rocks and shells
- Requires heavier jig head than typical plastic
- Fine details wear off quickly with heavy use

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
