Quick take
A 3.75-inch creature bait with angled appendages that slow the fall and displace water.
The Junebug Spine Craw is a 3.75-inch soft plastic craw with a narrow, solid body that slips through thick cover. Its angled appendages move extra water and slow its fall, and it can be rigged Texas or Carolina style for flipping or as a trailer. A pack of 8 gives an angler a good run of baits for a day on the water.
Best for
- Flipping dense cover for bass
- Using heavier jig heads in deep water
- Dragging on the bottom
Skip if
- You need to cast long distances; soft plastics are light
- You fish open water; dragging works best near structure
Strengths
- Angled appendages slow descent through the water column
- Appendages displace more water and create attraction
- Works as standalone bait or as trailer
Trade-offs
- Soft plastic tears easily on sharp rocks and shells
- Requires heavier jig head than typical plastic
- Fine details wear off quickly with heavy use

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
