Quick take

A high-speed conventional reel designed for copper and wire line trolling with level-wind levelwind and multi-disc drag.

The Okuma Coldwater 553 is a levelwind trolling reel built for wire and copper line, the kind of setup used for getting lures down deep behind a boat. A 4.7:1 gear ratio picks up line quickly, and a multi-disc Carbonite drag handles the runs. It carries about 440 yards of 40 lb line and suits trolling anglers after salmon and walleye.
