Quick take
A 4 in creature bait with front arms and trailing tentacles that create aggressive water displacement.
The 4-inch Yamamoto Kreature is a soft creature bait with arms up front, flaps along the sides and a tail of loose tentacles. It comes seven to a pack and is aimed at bass. Anglers rig it Texas style in cover, on a Carolina rig, or weightless around brush and grass, and it also works as a jig trailer.
Best for
- Flipping and pitching over structure
- Weed-free rigs over grass beds
- Texas-rigged presentations in cover
Skip if
- You fish open water; too much bulk
- You want a subtle presentation
Strengths
- Arms at the top of the body start the action immediately
- Tentacles add constant water movement throughout the fall
- Side flaps create additional displacement and vibration
Trade-offs
- Large profile is hard to cast in tight spaces
- Requires heavier jigs to stay in strike zone
- Bulkier than finesse baits for suspended fish

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
